Brussels

August 22nd, 2010

The reputation of solid and trade center Brussels won in medieval times. The city with an interesting and sometimes dramatic history can boast an excellent architectural heritage and richness of the museum exhibits. In a relatively small Belgian capital have their headquarters EU and NATO – that is why Brussels sometimes called the capital of Europe.

There are many architectural monuments in Brussels, which created in the Art Nouveau style. The buildings in this modern style demonstrate both beauty and functionality.

Brussels is one of the largest cultural centers in Europe. It is widely famous for its rich collection of local museums – the Belgian Royal Museum of Art, the Royal Museum of Art and history – which shows paintings by Pieter Bruegel the wrist (1530-69), and Peter Powell Rubens (1577-1640).

The Museum of Musical Instruments is one of the most popular. Here you can find more than 6000 exhibits! The Royal Institute of Natural History – here you can see the skeletons of ancient creatures that lived on our planet millions of years ago. There are also some unconventional museums in Brussels, among which are museums devoted to comics and famous Mechlin lace.

The Grand Place, located in the heart of Brussels, truly deserves its title of most beautiful and elegant areas in Europe. The buildings that surround the square represent the greatest masterpieces of world architecture in the open air.

The historical center of Brussels is divided into two parts – Lower and Upper Town. Lower Town has been a center of trade, craft, and then industry since the old time, and the Upper Town is the area of palace and park complex for the king and the aristocracy. Here concentrated the world famous tourist attractions of Brussels.

Brussels is the city aesthetes, romantics and gourmands. You can enjoy the taste of local life fully in one of the city’s restaurants. Even the most “average” restaurants in Brussels have an extremely high level of cooking. The Belgians refer to the process of cooking pedantically, but at the same time they can exquisitely decorate the dish.

Serious Belgians are serious in everything – hotels in Brussels differ in style, location, and price which mostly depends on price and location of hotels. Hotel booking is much easier online.  Reservation Online Service (HROS) provide the most profitable hotel booking. We have special rates lower than hotel rack-rates. You can get real discounts here – that is why Brussels hotels booked with HROS are cheap hotels inspite of their category.
